    Short Biography

    Mayowa graduated from Princeton in 2022 with a A.B. in Neuroscience and a certificate in Global Health. She completed her undergraduate thesis research in Dr. Catherine Peña’s lab studying long-term neuroepigenetic changes following early life stress. After graduation, she moved to New York City where she investigated the effects of stress on reward processing in the Neural Circuits Lab at NYSPI/Columbia University. Mayowa then joined the Harvard-MIT MD/PhD program in the Fall 2023 and the Heiman Lab in the Fall 2025 where she is working on harnessing transcriptomics to improve in vitro models of the blood-brain barrier.
